I tried a new restaurant in Madison for lunch today. Although I’m not a vegetarian, I really like veggie friendly restaurants and this one is also vegan. The Green Owl just opened at Schenk’s Corner’s on Atwood Ave. and it’s a great little cafe with a lovely design. I asked who designed their identity, but the waitress only knew that it was the owner’s sister. Stop by next time you’re in the area – it’s a small menu, but pretty tasty. I give it two hoots.
The 3rd annual Crafty Mama Craft Fair is this Friday night, December 4th at Happy Bambino in Madison. As part of the Atwood Winter Fest, this fair will showcase a selection of work from artists: Ilia Klosnos, Maureen O’Grady, Stacy Stone, Meleah Moskoff and Michelle Martin. I saw this exhibit at the Walker in Minneapolis a few years ago, and now it’s at the MAM. Andy Warhol: The Last Decade is an exhibit that explores the work that Warhol produced during his final years of life. The pop artist’s exhibit is showing now through January 3rd in the Baker/Rowland Galleries. And, this Sunday, December 6th is Holiday Time with Uncle Andy – an afternoon for kids to experiment with spaghetti prints, Pop portraits, and traditional Pop Art images to create interesting and unusual holiday items.
