Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 18th as AIGA presents Debbie Millman, the author, savvy and opinionated host of Internet talk show “Design Matters,” and partner at Sterling Brands. The beautiful Milwaukee Art Museum will host Millman at AIGA’s first annual member celebration. Millman’s provocative musings on design’s role within larger business and social contexts make her one of the preëminent voices in the design world today. Registration by this Sunday, June 7 is strongly recommended to secure your spot and also receive a signed copy of Millman’s recently published “How To Think Like A Great Graphic Designer”, a book held in high esteem by established and emerging designers nationwide. Register now for an evening of great conversation with fellow designers and a very special keynote address.

Enjoy reading and discussing the future of design? Join AIGA Wisconsin on Wednesday, June 10th as they kick off their first Sustainable Book Club. This book club will focus on books that have changed the way we look at the design of the world and inspire us to reshape our future in an ecologically effective manner. The first meeting will be at 7pm at the Riverfront Pizzeria in the Third Ward in Milwaukee – members and non-members are welcome at this free event. The first book is Massive Change by Bruce Mau. This book is “not about the world of design; it’s about the design of the world.” This event is associated with The AIGA Center for Sustainable Design, whose objective is to encourage and support designers as they incorporate sustainable thinking into their professional lives.
